ABOUT     INGA VON DOMARUS

Inga Charlotte von Domarus lives and works in Munich.

She graduated as „Meisterschüler“/ master studies passed with distinction- at Academy of Fine Arts in Munich

(Prof. S. Huber). With her final year project „Vorbei/ Gone“, a documentation film about a romantic projection of love letters on the surface of passing containerships in Hamburg she won the Manfred Bischoff award. In addition to her studies she founded the internationallly networking Offspace Gallery ALM and the Salon Privatgalerie in Munich and contributed a versatile, connecting input beyond the Munich cultural scene. As a result, the Goethe Institute Shanghai (Workshop) and Seoul (Artist in Residence/ Geumcheon Art Center) invited her twice, she was nominated for Prix Pictet Earth and was invited as Artist in Residence at CCA Andratx/ Spain. With Gallery Six Friedrich/ Lisa Ungar (Soloshow) she participated et.al. Arco Madrid, Art Forum Berlin, Art Cologne.

Her media, mainly fotography- corresponds to the particular sensitive demand of the location, but more over can be installation, video and projection. In versatile ways, von Domarus is interested in transitory processes.

The isolated, grown- lonely personal microcosm, presenting itself visually clean and accessible- is collected in a time, space and diversification equalized macrocosm.

During her numerous voyages, her attention focuses the gap between private and public space, pointing out specific codes of a globalized world. Her pure and straight forward fotographic work, Palms & Planes could be seen, amongst others, at Kwadrat Gallery in Berlin. It was produced during her DAAD scholarship for free fine art studies in Los Angeles. von Domarus shoots worldwide for her series "Global Transit- 5 Stars, Flights, Jet- Legs and the stories behind".  After 10 years in Berlin, she is based in Munich again.
